The ideal candidate will have multi-state sales and use tax compliance experience, strong knowledge of nexus and indirect tax regulations, and advanced Excel and tax technology skills. The Senior Indirect Tax Analyst role is a remote position. This is a direct hire position. Senior Indirect Tax Analyst Responsibilities Assist Tax Leadership with the continued development of tax technology and automation initiatives to improve scalability, accuracy, and reporting. Support sales and use tax compliance by gathering data for outsourced tax return preparation through Vertex. Review completed sales and use tax returns for accuracy prior to approval and payment. Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales and use tax returns across multiple state and local jurisdictions. Reconcile sales tax data from accounting systems to ensure accuracy and completeness. Administer the exemption certificate process, including collection, validation, maintenance, and compliance with state-specific requirements. Maintain accurate documentation for resale and other exemption certificates. Manage sales tax registrations for new entities, business locations, and jurisdictions as nexus is established. Prepare and submit sales tax license applications and supporting documentation to state tax authorities. Monitor changes in sales and use tax laws, tax rates, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Research and respond to indirect tax questions from internal business partners. Assist with nexus studies, tax audits, and information requests from taxing authorities. Review personal property tax filings for accuracy and completeness. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures related to indirect tax processes. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Senior Indirect Tax Analyst Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA candidate or active CPA preferred. 4-6+ years of progressive experience in sales and use tax compliance. Strong understanding of sales and use tax principles, nexus concepts, and multi-state compliance requirements. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and analysis of large data sets. Experience working with tax software; Vertex experience is highly preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with state tax registration portals and sales tax licensing processes preferred. Experience coordinating with outsourced tax service providers and managing tax-related projects is a plus. Pay:
