Tax Senior / Tax Manager Peoria, IL | Small, established CPA firm There's a big difference between doing the tax work and actually knowing the clients behind it. This is a smaller CPA firm working predominantly with small and medium sized businesses and their owners. The work is broad, the client relationships are close, and you're able to see much more of the picture than you often can in a larger firm. You'll work across tax preparation, review, planning and consulting, supporting both businesses and individuals. But it isn't just about getting the return out of the door. A big part of the firm's approach is helping clients understand their numbers, what they mean for the business and what they should be thinking about next. That could mean working with someone starting a business, helping an established owner through a period of growth, or advising someone who is eventually looking to sell. The team itself includes a small number of CPAs and EAs and several bookkeeping staff, so you'll be joining an experienced group without disappearing into a huge department. For someone coming from a larger CPA firm, it gives you the chance to get closer to clients and broaden what you're involved in. For someone already working within a smaller firm, it's an opportunity to keep that variety while stepping into more responsibility as your experience grows. They're open to somebody at Senior or Manager level , so the exact role can be shaped around where you are now. You'll need public accounting tax experience and be comfortable working across a varied client base. More than anything, this suits somebody who likes the relationship side of public accounting and wants to understand the businesses they're advising, rather than only seeing one small part of the work.
