$85,000-$105,000 per year A growing public accounting firm in Glenview is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to take ownership of tax compliance work, interact directly with clients, and continue progressing toward a future management role. Responsibilities Prepare and review federal and multistate income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts. Analyze returns and workpapers to identify, research, document, and communicate potential tax issues. Work directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, discuss tax matters, and support planning conversations. Research technical tax issues and clearly summarize conclusions and recommended next steps. Help clients remain compliant while identifying practical opportunities to reduce tax and reporting burdens. Prepare tax accrual workpapers and use tax software to complete accurate and timely filings. Participate in tax-planning engagements throughout the year. Delegate work when appropriate and assist with training and supporting junior team members. Stay current on changes in federal, state, and local tax law. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required. Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred. At least three years of public accounting tax experience preparing business and individual returns. Experience reviewing returns or guiding junior staff is preferred, but candidates do not need to be current managers. CPA completed or actively in progress is highly preferred. Strong tax research, analytical, critical-thinking, and communication skills. Experience with CCH, RIA, BNA, fixed-asset, or similar tax research and compliance tools is beneficial. Ability to manage deadlines, work collaboratively, and communicate confidently with clients. Why Consider This Opportunity Take the next step beyond a traditional Tax Senior position without immediately moving into a full management role.
