The Tax Associate II supports the company's indirect tax function, with primary responsibility for sales and use tax reporting and compliance. This role also supports audit activity, tax data analysis, and day-to-day tax operations. The position requires strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate tax-related matters clearly and professionally. The role should be comfortable using AI-enabled and other technology tools responsibly.Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings and related journal entries.
- Assist with sales and use tax audits.
- Research and respond to tax inquiries from Account Executives and/or customers regarding sales tax matters.
- Maintenance of customer resale and tax exemption certificates.
- Prepare and file yearend Forms 1099.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
- Experience with multi-state sales tax filings.
- Vertex experience preferred.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills.
- Ability to assess complex or ambiguous situations, prioritize issues, and recommend practical next steps.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business systems; experience using AI tools or AI-enabled workplace technology to enhance productivity is preferred. Ability to use AI responsibly, including validating outputs, protecting confidential information, and applying appropriate professional judgment.
