Job Description
Tax Senior Distinct Recruitment - 4.5 Fort Worth, TX Job Details Full-time $80,000 - $100,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Work from home Vision insurance 401(k) matching Flexible schedule Retirement plan Qualifications CPA Public accounting Mentoring Accounting firm experience Leadership Full Job Description Tax Senior Independent CPA Firm Fort Worth, TX Learn from people who have done it at the highest level, without getting lost in a big firm structure. A lot of Tax Seniors reach this point and start wanting more from the role. More complex work. More exposure to planning. More access to people they can genuinely learn from. What they do not necessarily want is more layers, more politics, and a longer wait to be noticed. This independent CPA firm in Fort Worth offers a different balance. The firm was founded by former Big 4 Partners, so the technical standard is high and the leadership team brings experience from the largest firms. The difference is that you get that exposure in a smaller environment where access is easier, your work is more visible, and development does not have to happen several layers away from the people making decisions. What could be better about this move You will work directly with experienced Partners who can help you understand the thinking behind more complex tax issues. You will get exposure to clients and technical work that you would normally associate with a larger firm, while staying in a smaller team. You will also have the chance to get closer to planning and advisory work rather than spending all of your time in compliance. That combination should appeal if you want to keep improving technically without feeling like you need to join a much larger firm to do it. The role You will prepare and review tax returns across individuals, partnerships, and corporations. You will support tax planning and advisory projects and work closely with Partners on more complex technical matters. You will manage your own workload, keep engagements moving, and help make sure deadlines are handled properly. You will also support junior staff and contribute to the wider team as your own experience grows. Who could fit This could suit an existing Tax Senior or a strong Tax Associate who is ready to step up. You will need public accounting tax experience and a solid grounding across a mix of client types. A CPA would be welcomed, and the firm is also open to someone actively working toward the qualification. More importantly, you should want to keep developing technically and be interested in working more closely with experienced leadership. Why this stage of your career matters Senior level is often where development either starts to accelerate or becomes repetitive. You can spend another year doing much of the same work. Or you can move into an environment where you are closer to stronger technical people, getting broader exposure, and building the judgement that will matter at Manager level and beyond. The attraction here is not simply another Tax Senior title. It is the chance to learn from former Big 4 Partners and get high quality experience without taking on the bureaucracy of a much larger firm.
