No benefits are offered at this time. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Associate to join our growing CPA firm. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, payroll tax filings, income tax preparation, and sales tax compliance for small businesses and individual clients. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent client service, and proficiency with QuickBooks and Drake Tax Software . Key Responsibilities Prepare and review individual, business, and fiduciary income tax returns. Perform monthly and quarterly bookkeeping services for multiple clients. Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll records. Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings. Prepare and file sales and use tax returns. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Assist clients with accounting and tax-related questions. Work directly with CPAs and firm leadership on tax planning and compliance projects. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and tax issues. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or bookkeeping.
Experience with:
Bookkeeping and account reconciliations Payroll processing and payroll tax reporting Income tax preparation for individuals and businesses Sales tax preparation and filing Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop). Experience using Drake Tax Software . Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines. Strong communication and client service skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a CPA firm or tax practice. QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification. Knowledge of multi-state tax filings. Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA candidate, or interest in pursuing professional certifications.
