Job Description

Cetera Holdings is seeking a Senior Associate, Tax Practice a motivated and detail-oriented professional who's ready to deepen their expertise in tax compliance and planning. In this role, you'll work closely with experienced team members to prepare complex returns, conduct tax research, and contribute to client engagements with growing autonomy. What will you do:
  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and closely held businesses
  • Conduct tax research and analysis, applying specialized knowledge to resolve client-specific issues and document findings clearly
  • Assist in developing tax planning strategies, identifying opportunities to minimize liabilities and support broader financial goals
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather information, clarify details, and ensure accurate and timely filings
  • Exercise independent judgment in identifying potential tax issues, proposing solutions, and communicating findings to managers
  • Participate in client meetings, offering technical insight and helping address questions related to compliance and planning
  • Stay current on tax law changes, leveraging continuing education and firm resources to maintain expertise and support advisory work
  • Contribute to process improvements, offering suggestions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client service
  • Support a collaborative team culture, working closely with tax and wealth professionals to deliver integrated client solutions What you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; master's in taxation preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax compliance and planning
  • Actively pursuing CPA or EA certification
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local income tax laws
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax preparation software #LI-Hybrid
