A Tax Specialist is responsible for documenting all stages of the accounting cycle in order to prepare Federal, State and local tax returns. Will review data prior to preparing the returns, prepare and file returns and will also provide background documentation in case of an audit.

Job Description
Entering data on the State Disbursement Unit (TXCSES Web); doing walk-throughs for pro se family law litigants on final orders; data entry, citations and judgments on tax cases; mail runs; processing jury mail; intake for passports to be sent to the passport agency; and overflow duties as assigned by Department Director or Supervisors. Process all e-filings for tax cases. Process passports to be sent to the passport agency. Submit/correct data on the SDU portal on child support cases. Issue wage assignments and enter on computer. Mail correspondence to custodial parents, non-custodial parents, and employers. Act as backup receptionist for the office, forwarding calls to the appropriate clerk or supervisor, and answering questions for callers within the scope of your training. Pull files and handle walk-throughs of final orders for pro se filers. Maintain knowledge of Texas Family Code. Interact with representatives of the Attorney General's Office. Pickup and deliver mail to the mailroom 3 or more times daily. Process jury mail by coding the correct information into the jury program. Answer jury calls and return voicemails. Any other duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent required. Computer data entry experience, customer service experience required.
