Job Description

The County of Sierra is seeking a qualified candidate to be appointed as Treasurer-Tax Collector effective December 26, 2026, under contract with the Board of Supervisors, to fill the vacancy occurring on December 24, 2026, pending the election in March 2028. The County Treasurer-Tax Collector is a key leadership position responsible for managing the County's financial operations, including treasury management, property tax collection, and investment of public funds. This role safeguards public assets, ensures compliance with state laws and regulations, and provides transparent, accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a trusted financial professional with strong knowledge of public finance, investments, and tax administration. They demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with the public, staff, and other government agencies.
