Job Description

Tax Credit & Accounting CoordinatorPosition Summary The Tax Credit & Accounting Coordinator supports the organization's fundraising and accounting efforts by assisting with tax credit administration, donor communications, reporting, and financial support functions. This position works closely with Development and Finance teams to ensure tax credit applications are processed accurately, records are maintained, and donor information remains confidential. The role also provides backup support for various accounting functions as needed. Primary Responsibilities Assist with researching and gathering information to determine agency eligibility for state tax credit programs. Collaborate with Development staff and donors to obtain, process, and track tax credit applications. Prepare, maintain, and distribute tax credit reports and related documentation. Maintain accurate tax credit records and databases to ensure proper tracking, reporting, and compliance. Coordinate with donors to obtain required documentation and facilitate submission of tax credit applications to the appropriate state agencies. Assist with preparing grant applications, tax credit proposals, and supporting documentation as needed. Ensure all donor and financial information is handled with the highest level of confidentiality. Secondary Responsibilities Provide backup support for: Donor Clerk functions Accounts Payable (AP) Accounts Receivable (AR) Other accounting and finance functions as needed Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Excellent organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional customer service abilities. Experience with tax credits, grants, nonprofit accounting, fundraising administration, or related business processes preferred. Basic accounting experience, including Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable, preferred. Experience maintaining databases and generating reports preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding donor, financial, and organizational information. Ability to quickly learn and accurately apply state tax credit program requirements, regulations, and procedures. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments. Professional, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor. Experience working in a nonprofit environment is a plus.
