Non-Exempt Job Description:
This rowill issue licenses and permits to qualified applicants.
Examples of Duties:
Questions applicants to obtain information such as name, address, and age, and records data on prescribed forms. Evaluates information obtained to determine applicant qualification for licensure. Contacts customers if there are any problems during the permitting and licensing process. Responds to contractors inquires about permissions granted by Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation licensure. Responds to inquiries regarding permit requirements and processes. Collects prescribed fees, including contacting delinquent accounts. Maintains files and logs of permits issued and provides statistical information on permits. Create reports to identify delinquent accounts. Creates and updates department applications and forms. Prepares certificates of occupancy. Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate's degree (AA/AS); and six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel (including the ability to create spreadsheets using formulas). Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute by touch.
Other Necessary Requirements:
May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs.
