Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Used Car Dealer BHPH (Buy Here Pay Here) Collections Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage collections for our used car dealership's BHPH accounts, ensuring timely payments while maintaining excellent customer relationships. Your expertise in financial concepts, debt collection negotiation, and industry regulations will drive success in recovering outstanding balances and safeguarding our revenue cycle. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced automotive environment with a focus on compliance, customer service, and financial integrity. Duties Manage and oversee collections accounts related to used car BHPH financing, ensuring adherence to consumer protection laws and industry regulations. Contact customers via phone, email, or telemarketing methods to negotiate payment plans and resolve overdue balances effectively. Analyze Excel data and financial software reports to identify delinquent accounts, prioritize collection efforts, and perform account reconciliation. Handle accounts receivable processes, including account analysis, debit & credit adjustments, and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer information while complying with financial regulatory standards and company policies. Communicate clearly with clients regarding payment obligations, account status updates, and legal or compliance issues related to debt collection. Document all collection activities thoroughly in accounting software and ensure all client communication is professional, courteous, and compliant with applicable laws. Experience Proven experience in medical collections, accounts payable, or debt collection negotiation within a financial or automotive environment. Strong knowledge of consumer protection laws, financial regulations, and compliance standards relevant to debt collection practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) with the ability to perform data analysis and generate detailed reports. Familiarity with accounting software and financial software used for account management and revenue cycle processes. Excellent phone etiquette combined with effective telemarketing skills for client communication and negotiations. Solid understanding of accounting principles such as debits & credits, revenue cycle management, accounts receivable, and account analysis. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating strong math skills for account reconciliation and financial concepts.
