This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to accurately process financial transactions while complying with state laws and county policies. This position frequently interacts with the public and serves as one of the primary representatives of the Treasurer's Office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Motor Vehicle Services Process vehicle registrations, renewals, title transfers, and license plate transactions. Verify ownership documentation and ensure compliance with state motor vehicle regulations. Calculate and collect registration fees, taxes, and applicable penalties. Issue vehicle registrations, decals, permits, and license plates. Process duplicate titles, replacement registrations, specialty plates, and temporary permits. Maintain accurate records within state DMV systems. Balance daily cash drawer and reconcile transactions. Treasury Services Receive and process payments for property taxes, motor vehicle registrations, permits, and other county fees. Balance cash drawers and reconcile transactions. Prepare deposits according to county financial procedures. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Assist taxpayers with questions regarding payments and county services. Occasionally work after hours to help with county events. Customer Service Welcome and assist customers in person, by telephone, and electronically. Explain DMV procedures, fees, documentation requirements, and county policies. Resolve customer concerns professionally and courteously. Provide exceptional service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Administrative Duties Enter and maintain accurate information in county and state databases. Review applications and supporting documentation for completeness. File, scan, and maintain official records. Assist with office projects and process improvements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to accurately perform cash handling and basic mathematical calculations. Ability to learn and apply state motor vehicle laws and county policies. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check. Preferred Previous experience in customer service. Cash handling or banking experience. Clerical or administrative experience. Experience working in a DMV, Treasurer's Office, financial institution, or other government agency. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
