Hours are capped at 55 during peak. Not "we try to keep it reasonable." Capped. What makes this seat different The client base is genuinely varied, which means you are not stuck in one industry doing the same return 200 times. In a given month you might be working through a closely held manufacturer, a multi entity real estate group, a professional services partnership, and a high net worth family with trusts, gifting questions, and a few pass throughs feeding their 1040. If you like the technical variety of a smaller firm without the volume grind of a large one, this is that. You will have real client ownership here. These are relationships, not file numbers, and the firm expects its managers to be the person the client calls first. What you will be doing Reviewing and managing complex individual, partnership, S corp, C corp, trust, and estate returns Serving as the primary point of contact for a book of business across businesses, families, and individuals Planning work, not just compliance. Entity structure, transaction timing, multi year projections, succession and wealth transfer conversations Mentoring and developing seniors and staff Working directly with partners on client strategy and firm direction What they are looking for CPA 5 or more years in public accounting tax Experience across both business and individual returns, ideally with some high net worth exposure Someone who is comfortable in front of a client and can explain the "why" behind the number Strong review skills and the judgment to know when something does not look right Compensation and details $150,000 to $200,000 base depending on experience Mostly onsite in Branford, CT Busy season capped at 55 hours Full benefits, generous PTO, and a clear track toward senior leadership If you are a Tax Manager who is tired of 70 hour springs and wants a firm where the variety is real and the hours are honest, send your resume and let us talk confidentially.
