In this pivotal role, you will oversee the accurate and compliant handling of individual, corporate, and specialized tax filings while managing comprehensive bookkeeping functions. Your expertise will ensure our clients receive exceptional service, precise financial reporting, and strategic guidance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your extensive accounting knowledge, tax law proficiency, and financial analysis skills in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence and growth. Responsibilities Lead the preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Manage bookkeeping processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; perform account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. Provide expert guidance on tax planning strategies including estate planning, Wills, trusts & estate law, and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs. Conduct detailed financial analysis and report interpretation to support client decision-making; prepare comprehensive financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Ensure regulatory compliance accounting standards are met by adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other relevant financial regulations. Collaborate with clients to communicate complex tax concepts clearly; assist with tax reporting, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements. Support mergers & acquisitions activities by analyzing financial data, conducting due diligence, and preparing related reports. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes affecting individual and corporate taxes; implement necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance. Skills Extensive experience in tax compliance, tax law, and tax reporting for diverse client portfolios. Strong background in accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, technical accounting, and financial software proficiency (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage). Expertise in estate planning, wills & trusts law, securities law, non-profit accounting, and regulatory compliance accounting. Demonstrated ability in financial analysis, report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliation. Proficiency in corporate accounting practices such as accounts payable/receivable management, payroll processing, asset management, and general ledger reconciliation. Knowledge of specialized areas including LIHTC programs, private equity transactions, mergers & acquisitions finance strategies. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and professionally. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail; ability to perform account analysis and conduct thorough audits.
