[City, FL] (or note if hybrid/onsite) Company Overview [Firm Name] is seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing tax practice. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional looking to lead client engagements, manage staff, and continue building a career within a collaborative public accounting environment. Position Summary The Tax Manager will oversee tax compliance and planning engagements for a diverse client base, including corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, engagement management skills, and the ability to mentor and develop staff while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. Key Responsibilities Manage tax compliance engagements, including preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S-corporations, and individuals Advise clients on tax planning strategies, including entity structuring, transaction planning, and tax minimization opportunities Research and analyze complex tax issues, preparing technical memoranda and client-ready deliverables Review tax provisions (ASC 740) and related workpapers, as applicable Manage client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact and identifying opportunities for additional services Review work prepared by Tax Seniors and Staff, providing coaching, technical guidance, and constructive feedback Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and staffing, ensuring efficient and profitable engagement delivery Respond to IRS and state tax notices, and manage tax audits as needed Monitor changes in tax law and regulations, assessing impact on client engagements Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and participation in networking and firm marketing initiatives Assist with due diligence engagements related to M&A transactions, identifying tax exposure and planning opportunities Contribute to firm training programs and technical development of tax staff Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; Master's in Taxation preferred CPA required 5-8+ years of progressive tax experience within public accounting Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, and individuals Prior experience supervising and developing staff and senior associates Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients and colleagues Proficiency with tax research software (BNA, CCH, Checkpoint) and tax preparation software (GoSystem, CCH Axcess, or similar) Excellent client relationship management and business development skills Preferred Attributes Big 4 or national/regional public accounting firm background Experience with a specific industry niche (real estate, financial services, manufacturing, high-net-worth individuals) a plus Track record of contributing to business development and growing a book of business
