OVERVIEW
The Senior Tax Manager will prepare various corporate federal and state income tax returns, estimates, extensions, and tax provisions for various entities. The Senior Tax Manager will also assist with tax research, tax audits, and indirect tax matters, including sales and property taxes.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in accounting is required Master's degree in accounting or tax is preferred CPA preferred
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
) Minimum of 5+ years of Big Four accounting experience is required. Additional experience with another accounting firm or with a private or public company is acceptable but not required Strong skills in utilizing tax technology, especially corporate income tax preparation software Strong tax research, writing, business analysis, and communication skills Experience with corporate federal and state income tax preparation and corporate tax provisions Knowledge of SAP preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare various corporate federal and state income tax returns using Corptax software. Maximize the use of technology to efficiently complete the corporate tax compliance function. Perform tax research on a wide range of tax issues, including Internal Revenue Code analysis, state income tax issues, sales tax, international tax issues, and manufacturing accounting methods. Assist with various corporate income tax provisions. Prepare responses to IRS information requests regarding the accounting and tax treatment of items on prior-year returns. Stay up to date on tax laws and tax compliance changes impacting the company. Support tax planning projects and other tax-related initiatives. Maintain a strong working rapport with the tax and accounting teams. Prioritize work effectively and manage time efficiently. Demonstrate strong collaboration skills. Demonstrate accountability and take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Manage fixed assets in the Sage system. Prepare tangible property tax returns. We are an equal opportunity employer.
