- Expected salary range
- of $135,000 to $150,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
- Primary Purpose of Position
- The State and Local Tax ("SALT") Planning manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing, and implementing opportunities to minimize the Company's state and local tax burden. This will involve researching, drafting memoranda, and advising on matters relating to state and local taxation and tax positions taken on state and local income tax returns.
- Primary Duties and Accountabilities
- + Helps identify, evaluate and develop strategies to reduce state and local taxes for all business units in all states in which they do business.
+ Manages and coordinates SALT audits and the appellate process.
+ Performs research related activities to support the review of tax positions taken on state and local income tax returns, including preparation and review of supporting memorandums.
+ Provides additional ad-hoc support to the group as needed.
+ Participates in cross-functional teams in order to effectively implement value added state and local tax planning strategies
+ Supports merger and acquisition activity.
- Minimum Qualifications
- + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + Certified Public Accountant or other financial certification and/or advanced degree (JD or MST) + 5-years large publicly traded corporation tax experience, including a combination of industry and public accounting + 5 years of professional tax experience, specifically supporting large publicly traded companies + Proficient knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements + 40 hours of ongoing annual continuing professional education will be required of all professionals in the Department (at the Company's expense) •Preferred Qualifications•Energy industry experienceConstellation is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and employees or applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to: age, color, disability, gender, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
