full-time Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their accounting and finance team. This position will be responsible for overseeing tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, and supporting the organization with tax planning and strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external advisors. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to take ownership of a broad range of tax responsibilities within an established organization. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage federal, state, and local tax compliance activities. Review tax returns, schedules, calculations, and supporting documentation. Coordinate with external tax advisors and accounting professionals as needed. Research tax laws, regulations, and accounting guidance to ensure compliance. Assist with tax planning and identify opportunities to improve the organization's overall tax position. Support tax provision and reporting processes. Monitor tax deadlines, filings, payments, and related requirements. Assist with audits, examinations, and requests from taxing authorities. Maintain accurate tax records and documentation. Partner with accounting, finance, and other departments on tax-related matters. Identify and implement process improvements related to tax compliance and reporting. Provide guidance and recommendations to leadership regarding tax matters. Stay current on changes in tax legislation and assess their potential impact on the organization. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Several years of progressive tax or public accounting experience. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local taxation. Experience preparing and/or reviewing tax returns and tax-related filings. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting/tax software.

Preferred:

CPA or Master's degree in Taxation/Accounting, along with experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
