Tax Manager - Trusts, Estates $160,000-$170,000+ salary depending on experience Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-5:00

Schaumburg, IL CPA Highly Preferred About the Opportunity We're partnering with a growing public accounting firm that is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements, review returns, support staff, and manage client relationships. This role is a strong fit for a CPA with trust, estate, high-net-worth, and pass-through entity tax experience who enjoys technical tax work, client advisory, and mentoring junior team members. The firm offers strong compensation, 5 weeks of PTO , and the opportunity to step into people leadership after getting settled in the role. What You'll Be Doing Manage complex tax engagements from planning through completion. Review tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and pass-through entities . Research tax issues and advise clients on planning opportunities. Coordinate budgets, timelines, workpapers, and engagement progress. Communicate with clients on tax matters, deadlines, issues, and recommendations. Mentor and coach staff by answering questions and reviewing work. Support partners with client retention, service opportunities, and firm initiatives. Help identify planning strategies for clients in areas such as manufacturing, construction, nonprofit, and closely held businesses . Use tax software and accounting tools including CCH and QuickBooks Online . What They're Looking For CPA highly preferred Strong tax background in trusts, estates, high-net-worth individuals, and pass-through entities . Experience supporting clients in manufacturing, construction, nonprofit, or closely held business sectors preferred. Ability to review complex returns and guide staff through technical questions. Strong client communication and relationship management skills. Experience mentoring, coaching, or reviewing staff work. Strong research, problem-solving, organization, and time management skills. Comfortable working extended hours during tax season.
