We are seeking an experienced, growth-oriented Tax Manager to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the vital link between firm leadership, valued clients, and staff accountants-managing complex compliance engagements, mentoring rising talent, and driving practice development.
Key Responsibilities Engagement Leadership:
Lead all phases of tax and compliance engagements, ensuring returns and planning projections adhere to professional standards.
Client Advisory:
Serve as a primary trusted advisor, maintaining regular client contact and developing a deep understanding of their business goals.
Workflow & Scheduling:
Plan and staff engagements efficiently while keeping projects within budget and resolving potential roadblocks early.
Team Supervision:
Mentor and train staff, perform thorough reviews of workpapers and tax returns, and assist with performance appraisals.
Technical Problem-Solving:
Keep principals informed of key developments, analyzing complex tax issues and delivering practical solutions.
Business Development:
Contribute to firm growth through marketing, client acquisition, recruitment, and internal CPE training.
Qualifications Credentials:
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential required . Active membership in a state CPA or tax society in good standing.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive public accounting experience in taxation, demonstrating increasing engagement complexity and supervisory responsibility.
Education & CPE:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; commitment to 40+ hours of annual continuing education.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in modern tax, accounting, and cloud-based software suites.
Core Competencies:
