We are currently seeking an experienced Tax Senior or Tax Manager to join our Detroit office and support our closely held business and individual tax clients. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys working directly with business owners, delivering proactive tax guidance, and helping clients maintain accurate financial records throughout the year and at year-end.
Prepare and review business tax returns, including S corporations, partnerships, and corporations.
Prepare and review individual income tax returns, with an emphasis on planning, compliance, and proactive client service.
Perform year-end cleanup of client books to support accurate financial reporting and tax return preparation.
Work with clients on bookkeeping matters and provide support related to client accounting services.
Use QuickBooks and other accounting tools to review, adjust, and maintain client financial information.
Identify tax planning opportunities for business owners and individuals, including entity structure, compensation, and other tax-saving strategies.
Respond to client questions and serve as a trusted advisor on accounting and tax matters.
Assist with IRS and state notices, audits, and other compliance matters.
Review staff work, provide feedback, and help develop less experienced team members, as applicable to level.
Strong background in small business accounting and tax compliance.
Experience with individual income tax planning and compliance.
Familiarity with QuickBooks and experience working with client bookkeeping files.
Background in client accounting services and year-end cleanup of client books.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and a client service mindset.

Position Requirements:
CPA license required, or actively pursuing certification for Tax Senior candidates.4+ years of public accounting experience for Tax Senior candidates.6+ years of public accounting experience for Manager candidates.Strong background in small business accounting and tax compliance.
Experience with individual income tax planning and compliance.
Familiarity with QuickBooks and experience working with client bookkeeping files.
Background in client accounting services and year-end cleanup of client books.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and a client service mindset.
