Job Description
Position Summary We are looking for a skilled Tax Manager, CPA to join our growing financial solutions firm in Farmington Hills, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing complex tax return preparation, research, and planning for individuals, trusts, and businesses. This role plays a key part in supporting our clients' financial health and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Tax Manager lead all aspects of the firm's tax practice. Grow into Director of Tax over the next 1-2 years. Develop tax practice strategies for clients. Conduct tax forecasting and projection analysis. Coordinate with Wealth and Health Advisors as part of holistic financial outlook to provide best outcomes for clients. Prepare accurate individual, corporate, trusts, and partnership tax returns, schedules, and forms. Review other tax team members work. Ensure all returns are filed timely and all taxes due are paid in accordance with regulations. Perform tax research. Conduct year-end tax planning to minimize tax liability. Stay current on tax law changes, regulations, and industry updates. Provide recommendations on financial results and tax implications. Communicate with all of the company clients across all departments regarding tax issues and updates through newsletters or emails. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA certification strongly preferred. EA designation considered at a minimum. Minimum 6 years of public accounting experience (private accounting background may be considered). Experience collaborating with Financial Advisors preferred. Strong understanding of local, state, and federal tax regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Accounting CS, and tax software (UltraTax or Drake preferred). Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
