You will review and manage federal and state filings, research tax issues, and advise on planning strategies. This role includes supervising staff, ensuring compliance and quality, and serving as primary client contact. You'll work entrepreneurially in a flexible, performance-driven, largely remote environment, collaborating with cross-functional experts while developing your leadership, technical tax, and client management skills on diverse, challenging projects. Responsibilities Lead and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for diverse professional and technical services clients Research tax issues, interpret regulations, and provide clear guidance on tax planning and risk mitigation Manage client relationships, serving as primary tax advisor and point of contact Supervise, mentor, and review work of junior tax staff; provide technical training and feedback Coordinate with cross-functional professionals (accounting, legal, finance) to optimize client tax positions Monitor legislative and regulatory changes; update clients and internal teams on impacts Ensure workpapers, filings, and documentation meet firm quality and compliance standards Support business development through proposals, scoping, and presenting tax solutions Manage project timelines, budgets, and priorities across multiple concurrent client engagements Use tax and accounting software/Excel to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and prepare deliverables Required Skills Tax compliance (federal, state, local) Tax research and technical writing Corporate and pass-through entity taxation Tax provision and ASC 740 concepts Tax planning and advisory for businesses Advanced Excel and data analysis Tax preparation/review software (e.g., CCH, Ultra Tax, Pro System) Workpaper documentation and audit trail preparation Project and engagement management People management and staff development
