Job Description

Part-Time / Seasonal Part-Time / Seasonal Tax Manager Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Part-Time / Seasonal Tax Manager to join a public accounting environment. This position will work approximately 50-70% of a full-time schedule and will be responsible for managing, reviewing, and delivering high-quality tax services to a diverse client base. The Tax Manager will serve as a trusted business advisor, providing tax planning, compliance, consulting, and financial guidance while managing multiple clients, deadlines, budgets, and production goals. This role also provides opportunities for leadership, staff development, and process improvement. Key Responsibilities Manage and deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive tax planning, consulting, and advisory services. Develop tax planning strategies and prepare tax projections to help clients manage their tax obligations. Review complex federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, real estate entities, benefit funds, and exempt organizations. Identify potential tax risks and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate them. Manage tax compliance and tax provision processes while ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Provide guidance and responses to clients regarding federal and state tax notices and correspondence. Prepare internal memoranda, client correspondence, and documentation for submissions to the IRS, Treasury Department, and other taxing authorities. Train, supervise, review, and evaluate the work of tax staff. Manage multiple clients, budgets, priorities, and production deadlines. Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and implement efficient best practices. Research tax issues and provide practical recommendations to clients and internal teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Active CPA certification. Minimum 6 years of public accounting tax experience. At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience. Proven experience reviewing individual, business, and real estate tax returns. Strong accounting, tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with tax preparation software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Experience with UltraTax is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
