Job Description

Cetera Planning Partners, a unique community within Cetera Holdings, is seeking an Associate Tax Manager (experienced CPA or Enrolled Agent) who thrives on collaboration, precision, and client impact. In this role, you'll contribute directly to our growing tax offering by preparing and reviewing returns, partnering with wealth advisors, and delivering thoughtful tax strategies that support our clients' broader financial goals. Core Responsibilities:
  • Contribute technical expertise to the tax team by supporting collaborative problem-solving and sharing insights across engagements
  • Work alongside wealth advisors to help implement tax strategies that complement clients' broader financial plans
  • Build strong client relationships by providing reliable tax advice and being a consistent point of contact for planning and compliance needs
  • Review and sign tax returns—individual, fiduciary, and small business—with attention to accuracy and alignment with client goals
  • Assist in coordinating tax planning activities, including quarterly estimates, projections, and year-end strategies
  • Support process improvements by identifying efficiencies and contributing to the adoption of new tools and workflows
  • Communicate clearly and effectively through client emails, technical memos, and planning documents
  • Promote collaboration between tax and wealth teams by fostering open communication and shared client understanding Required Qualifications
  • Active CPA or EA license is required
  • At least 5 years of recent experience in public accounting, with a focus on preparing federal individual, fiduciary, and small business tax returns (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnerships)
  • Ability to work and deliver the quality product under tight timeframes
  • Excellent communication skills must be a team player
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in tax software Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Taxation or MBA is preferred #LI-Hybrid
