Senior Tax ManagerOverview:
A growing national accounting network is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead complex client engagements, strengthen relationships, and play a key role in expanding its California practice. This is a leadership-track position ideal for a technically strong tax professional who combines deep tax expertise with business development skills, mentoring ability, and a desire to help shape a growing firm. The role offers a direct path to Partner within a modern, collaborative organization focused on long-term growth and innovation.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead engagements: Manage and review complex business, partnership, and individual tax returns with a focus on quality, compliance, and strategic outcomes.

Provide strategic guidance: Deliver proactive tax planning and structuring advice to closely held businesses, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.

Drive business growth: Identify opportunities with existing clients and cultivate new relationships through networking and business development initiatives.

Build relationships: Act as a trusted advisor by maintaining strong, long-term relationships based on expertise and responsiveness.

Mentor and develop staff: Supervise, train, and guide tax managers, seniors, and associates to foster technical excellence and leadership skills.

Collaborate across teams: Work closely with firm leadership to execute regional growth strategies, expand service offerings, and enhance operational efficiency.

Innovate processes: Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, technology adoption, and the development of firm best practices.

Support advisory work: Assist clients with transactions, restructuring, and multi-state compliance as part of expanding advisory services.

QualificationsActive CPA license required.8-12 years of progressive public accounting experience with advanced tax expertise.

Proven ability to manage client relationships and drive new business development.

Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax law, including multi-state issues.

Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to contribute to firm growth and pursue partnership.
