Accountant /
They are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to join their team. This individual will manage accounting and tax engagements, work directly with clients, review financial information, and provide meaningful financial guidance and support.
The ideal candidate will have strong public accounting experience, excellent technical accounting skills, and the ability to develop trusted relationships with business owners and clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage accounting and tax engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Prepare and review financial statements, compilations, and accounting reports.
Oversee bookkeeping and general ledger activities for client accounts.
Prepare, review, and analyze individual and business tax returns.
Assist clients with tax planning, projections, and tax-saving strategies.
Review client financial records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end and year-end close activities.
Analyze financial statements and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Work directly with business owners and management to understand their financial and accounting needs.
Provide clients with practical accounting and financial recommendations.
Assist with audits, reviews, and compilations as needed.
Support payroll accounting and payroll tax compliance when required.
Research complex accounting and tax issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
Assist with business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Support business valuation, transaction analysis, succession planning, or other advisory engagements when applicable.
Review work prepared by Staff Accountants and provide guidance and mentorship.
Manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of client service.
Maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and serve as a trusted accounting advisor.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a public accounting/CPA firm environment.
Strong experience with financial statement preparation and general accounting.
Experience preparing and/or reviewing business and individual tax returns.
Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Experience with bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate complex accounting and financial matters clearly to clients.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
Experience working directly with small and mid-sized business owners is highly preferred.
CPA license is strongly preferred; CPA candidates with significant public accounting experience will also be considered.
Proficiency with accounting and tax software.
