2991420978-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Ilocatum seeks a Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements for clients in professional, scientific, and technical services. In this performance-driven, remote-friendly role, you will oversee compliance, planning, and research across federal, state, and local taxes, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff. You'll interpret evolving tax laws, support audits, and identify opportunities to optimize client tax positions. This position offers autonomy, growth in full-cycle tax advisory, and the chance to collaborate with a results-focused recruiting team on high-impact projects. Responsibilities Lead and review federal, state, and local tax compliance and filings for clients in professional, scientific, and technical services Research complex tax issues and develop strategies to minimize client tax liability while ensuring full compliance Manage tax planning, projections, and year-end strategies for a diverse client portfolio Supervise and mentor junior tax staff; review workpapers, returns, and supporting documentation Coordinate with clients to gather financial data, clarify tax positions, and resolve tax-related inquiries Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate impacts and opportunities to clients and internal team Support tax audits, respond to taxing authorities, and prepare supporting schedules and documentation Collaborate with firm leadership on process improvements, technology use, and best practices in tax engagements Prepare and present clear reports and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders Contribute to business development by identifying additional tax service opportunities with existing clients Required Skills Corporate tax compliance Partnership and individual tax Tax research and analysis Tax planning and strategy GAAP and financial statement review Tax provision and ASC 740 basics Tax software (e.g., CCH, Ultra Tax, Pro System) Excel and financial modeling Client relationship management Staff supervision and review
