For over 35 years, we have provided comprehensive accounting, tax, and consulting support to closely held businesses, middle-market entities, and high-net-worth individuals across domestic, multi-state, and international jurisdictions. We are seeking an experienced and vision-driven Senior Tax Manager (with a pathway to Director) to join our executive leadership team. In this role, you will oversee complex tax engagements, mentor rising staff, drive firm growth, and serve as a primary trusted advisor. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership:
Identify complex tax issues, develop practical client solutions, and make data-driven decisions aligned with firm goals. Drive internal practice efficiency by bringing innovative software and workflow ideas to execution.
Client Portfolio Management:
Take full ownership of assigned client groups, serving as a primary advisor. Maintain proactive communication, anticipate client needs, and deliver high-value, forward-looking insights.
Complex Tax Advisory:
Conduct high-level tax research on intricate corporate, partnership, multi-state, and international matters, drafting technical memos and position papers for internal and client presentation.
Team Development & Mentorship:
Supervise, train, and coach staff and senior accountants through structured delegation, regular performance feedback, and leading internal technical CPE training sessions.
Business Development & Community Engagement:
Expand client relationships, participate in proposal presentations, and represent the firm through active participation in professional networks, board positions, and local community organizations.
Qualifications Licensure & Education:
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
Experience:
8+ years of progressive public accounting experience in taxation (10+ years considered for Director-level responsibilities).
Technical Depth:
Deep expertise managing complex federal, state, and multi-state compliance and advisory for closely held businesses and their owners. International tax experience is a plus.
Leadership & Vision:
Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary team resources, mentoring staff, and maintaining strong client retention.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with an ability to translate dense tax regulations into clear business strategy.
