Job Description

Senior Tax ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned Senior Tax Manager to lead tax compliance, consulting, and planning for a diverse client portfolio that includes high net worth individuals (HNW/HNWI), partnerships, and corporations. The ideal candidate will manage preparation and review of complex individual and corporate returns, oversee tax provision and compliance processes, and support business development initiatives. This role requires strong technical knowledge of 1040, 1120, and 1120S filings, experience with partnership tax matters, and proven leadership in a fast-paced firm or corporate environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise preparation and review of individual (1040) and corporate (1120, 1120S) tax returns for high net worth individuals, partnerships, C-Corps, and S-Corps.

Manage tax provision calculations and supporting documentation for corporate clients and consolidated entities.

Provide technical tax research and advisory services on federal, state, and local tax matters, including partnership allocations and HNW planning strategies.

Oversee compliance workflows, ensure timely filing and accuracy, and implement quality control processes across engagements.

Coach, mentor, and review the work of senior staff and managers; provide feedback and development plans to build a high-performing team.

Serve as escalation point for complex tax issues, coordinate with external advisors (estate, trust, investment managers) for comprehensive client service.

Support and drive business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client meetings and pitches for HNW and corporate prospects.

Collaborate with accounting, wealth management, and client service teams to deliver integrated tax-efficient strategies for high net worth clients.

Manage client relationships, delivering clear communication on tax positions, risks, and planning opportunities.

Ensure adherence to professional standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements across all tax engagements.

QualificationsCertified Public Accountant (CPA) required.10+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department with substantive exposure to high net worth individuals and complex entities.

Demonstrated expertise preparing and reviewing 1040, 1120, and 1120S returns and partnership filings.

Strong technical knowledge of corporate (C-Corp), S-Corp, and partnership tax rules, including allocations and basis adjustments.

Experience with tax provision (ASC 740) and related disclosures and documentation.

Proven track record providing tax planning and compliance services for high net worth individuals (HNWI/HNW) and business owners.

Experience managing teams, delegating work, and performing review and quality control (prep and review) of tax deliverables.

Business development experience, including client relationship management, proposal development, and pitching services.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with tax software and research tools.
