full-time Corporate Tax Manager We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to support complex corporate tax clients in a public accounting environment. This role manages corporate tax compliance, ASC 740 income tax provision work, tax planning, client relationships, and internal engagement teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with large corporate clients, including multi-state, national, or global companies. This person should be comfortable managing engagements from start to finish, reviewing corporate tax returns, overseeing tax provision work, and guiding associates and senior associates through client deliverables. This is a hybrid position requiring at least three days per week in the office or at a client site. Key Responsibilities Manage corporate tax engagements from planning through completion. Oversee corporate income tax compliance work, including Form 1120 returns. Review tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and potential tax planning opportunities. Lead or perform primary review of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements. Support income tax provision preparation, review, and audit-related projects. Manage client communication, timelines, budgets, and engagement expectations. Build strong relationships with client tax, finance, and accounting teams. Research federal, state, local, and international tax matters as needed. Assist with responses to IRS, state, and other tax authority inquiries. Supervise, train, and mentor associates, senior associates, and interns. Provide feedback to team members and support their professional growth. Collaborate with internal tax specialists on complex technical matters. Identify opportunities to provide additional tax services to current or prospective clients. Use tax software and firm tools to prepare, review, and process tax work. Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in all client matters. Travel as needed based on client or business needs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Active CPA license in California, or JD with an active law license. Four to seven years of progressive corporate tax compliance or tax consulting experience. At least one year of experience at the Tax Manager level. Recent public accounting experience with a Big 4, top 15 accounting firm, or large regional firm. Strong corporate income tax experience supporting large, complex clients. Experience with Form 1120 corporate tax compliance. Strong ASC 740 income tax accounting experience, including preparation, review, or audit support. Experience supporting large multi-state, national, or global corporate clients. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, corporate income tax rules, and tax accounting concepts. Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, budgets, and internal teams. Strong communication, client service, analytical, and leadership skills. Ability to work in the office at least three days per week. Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Experience with OneSource Tax Provision or similar tax provision software. Experience with state and local income tax matters. Exposure to international tax activity or transfer pricing.
