Same deadlines. Different logo. So this probably isn't a role for someone who simply wants out of their current firm. It's more interesting for the person who's actually quite comfortable, but would move if something gave them a better next few years. There's quite a lot here that might. This is an established private client team working with high net worth individuals and families, with plenty of trusts and estate work sitting alongside that. Many of the client relationships go back decades. That matters, because you're not being hired simply to sit above a review queue. You'll inherit established relationships and become more involved in the decisions clients make throughout the year. Sometimes that's significant tax planning around family wealth. Other times a client is making a big decision and wants their accountant involved before they make it, rather than telling them afterwards. There's still compliance. It's tax, after all. But the balance at this level moves much more towards planning and advisory work. You'll work directly with clients and alongside experienced Partners on the more sophisticated work coming through the firm. You'll also have good people underneath you. Managers and Seniors take on much of the work, while you'll review the more complex individual, trust, gift and partnership returns and help develop the team as they progress. Then there's your own progression. If you've reached Senior Manager and started wondering what actually comes after it, there's a genuine route here into Director and Partner. The firm isn't private equity backed either. Growth has been deliberate rather than driven by acquiring the next firm on the map. Hybrid and remote working are already established, so there's flexibility around where you work too.
