Type:

full-time A growing PE-backed SaaS company is seeking a Tax Director to join its global finance team. In this highly visible role, you will lead the organization's tax function while acting as a strategic advisor to the business across M&A and acquisition due diligence, tax planning and optimization, international expansion, and transfer pricing. You will also oversee US and international tax compliance, partnering closely with the CFO, Controller, and external advisors on complex cross-border tax matters. While this position is fully remote, there is a preference for this person to be based in Denver, Colorado. About the Tax Director role

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a strategic tax advisor to senior leadership, evaluating tax strategies and identifying opportunities for optimization and tax-efficient business decisions across multiple jurisdictions. Play a key role in M&A activity, leading tax due diligence, identifying transaction-related risks, recommending optimal tax strategies, and supporting the integration of acquired entities. Assess changes in US, Canadian, and international tax legislation, advising the business on potential risks, opportunities, and operational implications. Lead the organization's global transfer pricing program, including strategy, documentation, intercompany transactions, year-end true-ups, and compliance with IRS, OECD, and local jurisdiction requirements. Oversee US federal, state, and local corporate tax compliance, including income tax returns, tax provisions, estimated payments, extensions, and compliance calendars. Provide oversight of international tax requirements across the UK and other global jurisdictions, partnering with external advisors to ensure accurate and timely compliance. Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and other stakeholders on complex tax matters and strategic business initiatives. Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities, including oversight of tax audits and regulatory inquiries. Oversee tax provisions, deferred tax assets and liabilities, indirect taxes, and other tax-related financial reporting requirements. Drive continuous improvement across tax processes, governance, controls, and the use of external advisors.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA, CA, Master's in Taxation, MBA, or similar advanced qualification is highly desirable. Significant corporate tax experience with strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local taxation and exposure to international tax matters. Demonstrated experience providing tax advisory and planning support, with the ability to identify tax risks, optimization opportunities, and practical strategies for the business. Proven experience supporting M&A transactions and tax due diligence, including identifying risks and recommending tax-efficient transaction or integration strategies. Strong understanding of transfer pricing methodologies, cross-border taxation, and international documentation requirements. Experience with corporate income tax provisions, DTA/DTL, and financial reporting requirements. Knowledge of multi-state taxation, including nexus, apportionment, sales tax, and related compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to manage external tax advisors, auditors, and interactions with tax authorities. Strong analytical and commercial capabilities with the ability to translate complex tax matters into practical recommendations for senior stakeholders. Ability to operate effectively across a global, fast-paced, and evolving organization.
