$90,000-$100,000 Plus Annual Bonus Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Tax Manager to lead our tax department and oversee the preparation, review, and delivery of complex tax engagements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, exceptional leadership abilities, and extensive experience preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively manage staff, ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations, and deliver outstanding client service. Key Responsibilities Manage, supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals. Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, estates, and nonprofit organizations. Prepare complex tax returns as needed, particularly for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses. Ensure all tax engagements are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established deadlines. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing proactive tax planning and consulting services. Research complex tax issues and communicate findings and recommendations to clients and firm leadership. Monitor changes in federal, state, and local tax laws and educate staff on new regulations and best practices. Review workpapers for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards. Assist with IRS and state tax examinations, notices, and correspondence. Manage workflow, staffing assignments, project scheduling, and engagement budgets. Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within the tax department. Participate in client development efforts by identifying additional service opportunities and supporting business development initiatives. Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing team environment. Ensure compliance with firm policies, ethical standards, and applicable professional regulations. Qualifications 10+ years of recent public accounting tax experience. Previous tax management or supervisory experience required. Extensive experience preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Experience with partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, estates, and multi-state taxation. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and prioritize competing deadlines. Proven leadership, coaching, and team development experience. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail. Proficiency with tax preparation and research software. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred, not required. EA Preferred Bachelor's degree in Taxation or Accounting. Experience working with closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Experience with tax planning and consulting services. Familiarity with workflow management software and paperless tax systems. Experience participating in firm growth and business development initiatives.
