At this firm, you can. And once your hours are complete outside of busy season you're done. Work 4 longer days? Yep thats you heading into a 3 day weekend Several of the Partners have built their careers here themselves. They have gone through the same steps from doing the work, to reviewing it, managing clients and people, and eventually becoming part of the Partner group. And they are looking for the next people to do the same. Whether you're a Manager ready for more responsibility, or a Senior Manager looking for that final move before Partner, there is room to build something here rather than waiting for somebody above you to leave. This is an experienced, review focused role within an independent Fort Wayne CPA firm of around 50 people. You will oversee work, support junior staff, build client relationships and still stay close to the technical side. The work itself is broad, covering closely held businesses, construction, manufacturing, partnerships, S Corps and individual returns. A lot of the client base is made up of owner managed and multi generational businesses, so you will get to know the people behind the numbers rather than just their returns. As an experienced tax professional, you'll be comfortable reviewing returns, supporting junior staff and becoming one of the go to people within the team. If you're joining at Manager level, there is plenty of opportunity to keep developing. If you're already operating at Senior Manager level and thinking seriously about Partner, they're growing at the top of the team too. What stands out here is the culture. It has a genuine Midwest feel to it. Down to earth people, collaborative teams and not much ego. People know each other, Partners are involved and good work gets recognised. They don't see much turnover, which probably tells you more about the firm than any culture statement could. Mentorship is a genuine part of that. The firm invests heavily in interns and junior staff, with several recently returning full time after graduating. If you enjoy developing people, you'll have the opportunity to actually do that here rather than simply reviewing their work and moving onto the next return. They've also made a bigger commitment to flexibility. Outside of busy season, flexible Fridays now run year round rather than just between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Once your core hours are done, you're done. The firm is continuing to invest in its future too, building stronger review layers internally, improving processes and investing in technology to make the work more efficient.
