Tax Manager | Frisco, TX | $125,000 to $160,000 A path to Partner shouldn't just be a vague promise someone throws around in an interview. By the time you hit Tax Manager, you've usually already proved the technical side is covered. You can review complex work, keep deadlines on track, manage client relationships and support your junior staff. The real question is what happens after that. I'm working with an established, independent mid market CPA firm in Frisco, TX, with three offices across Texas, looking for a Tax Manager who wants to actually build toward Partner, with a real understanding of what that path requires. This isn't about being told an opportunity might come up someday. You'll get a clear picture of what the firm values, where you can add the most, and how your role grows as you take on more. You'll stay close enough to the technical work to keep sharpening your skills, but the job goes well past review and deadlines. You'll take on more ownership of client relationships, planning, advisory work, developing your team and helping run the practice day to day. You'll work directly with senior leadership and get real exposure to the commercial side of the firm, how clients are won, how teams are built, and how the practice keeps growing. Your contribution won't go unnoticed. Not just the technical work, but how you lead clients, develop people, improve service, and add to the firm as a whole. Day to day, you'll review complex individual and business tax work, own client relationships year round, support planning and advisory engagements, and coach less experienced staff. This is a good fit for someone with at least five years of public accounting tax experience, solid individual and business tax knowledge, and the confidence to manage clients on your own. CPA required. Worth a conversation if you already feel capable of more than your current role lets you show. Maybe you want more influence. Maybe you want real exposure to how a CPA firm is actually run. Or maybe you just want a clearer answer on what it takes to move beyond Manager.
