Tax Manager Confidential Great Neck, NY 11021 Hybrid work $160,000

  • Full-time Based on Long Island, NY an expanding cross-border manufacturing company (the "Company") is seeking an experienced tax manager to join the existing team of 5 tax professionals in overseeing and managing its tax accounting and compliance functions.
The hybrid-role will be primarily focused on all federal, state and international tax matters relating to the business taxation of partnerships and S corporations but will also have ancillary involvement with the tax filings of the Company's individual and trust owners. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage tax compliance and planning for federal, state and international jurisdictions Book to tax trial balance conversion Coordinate tax packages with local finance Respond to questions on tax packages State allocation and apportionment Calculate Book/Tax Depreciation adjustment, including bonus Prepare/review detailed schedules on UNICAP, balance sheet reserves, etc. Maintenance of tax basis & fixed asset depreciation schedules Preparation/Detailed Review of the Company's Federal and state partnership and S corporation returns (including Forms 5471 and 8858) Maintain cumulative book to tax temporary differences and supporting schedules Monitor and respond to Federal and State tax notices and/or examinations (as required) Assist in quarterly tax estimates and projections. Identify federal tax savings opportunities while ensuring compliance with the tax payment and reporting obligations of the Company Identify and mitigate tax risks Assist with tax research and special projects (Cost segs, credits & incentives, FTC planning, etc.) Recommend and implement improvements for workflow, tax accounting and tax software processes Advise Company management of the tax consequences of business decisions and provide recommendations regarding operational tax issues Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required CPA required; Advanced taxation degree a plus 7+ years experience in public accounting firm or in-house experience Proficiency with corporate, S corporation and partnership taxation Familiarity with cross-border business taxation; individual and trust taxation Strong accounting and analytical skills Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office as well as advanced proficiency with Excel Proficiency in Thomson Reuters OneSource, GoSystem and/or CCH tax preparation software a plus Knowledge of SAP software a plus
