Salary:
$110K-$160K base + bonus + stock optionsWe are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Tax Manager to lead our tax department. This role is designed for a "player-coach" who can oversee complex tax compliance, drive high-level tax planning initiatives, and mentor a professional team in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance & Review:
Oversee the preparation and final review of complex federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
Strategic Planning:
Identify and implement sophisticated tax-saving strategies while ensuring full compliance with ever-changing legislative requirements.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of tax professionals, providing regular performance feedback and technical guidance.
Advisory Services:
Act as a key consultant for internal leadership or external clients on technical tax matters, including M&A due diligence and international tax implications.
Risk Management:
Maintain the firm's tax risk profile by ensuring accurate tax accounting (ASC 740) and timely filings across all jurisdictions.
QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Taxation (MST) is highly preferred.
Certification:
Active CPA license is required.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of US GAAP, statutory accounting, and multi-state tax regulations.
Communication:
Ability to distill complex tax concepts into actionable business advice for non-tax stakeholders.
