Tax ManagerLocation:
Wakefield, MA (Hybrid Remote Flexibility)
Position Type:

$130,000 - $165,000 per yearThe RoleWe are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a seasoned, client-focused professional ready to take on a high-impact position within a progressive, growth-oriented CPA firm. We serve a wide range of clients-from large publicly held corporations to closely held businesses across diverse industries-and heavily value technical excellence, entrepreneurial thinking, and strong client relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngagement Supervision:
Supervise, plan, and schedule tax engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards.
Quality Control:
Perform detailed reviews of complex tax returns, workpapers, and technical tax research projects.
Client & Book Management:
Build and maintain direct client relationships; manage an existing book of business, including budgets, billing, and production goals.
Team Leadership:
Provide active training, direction, and oversight to team members, driving staff development and alignment on project status.
Business Growth:
Support consulting initiatives and specialized client projects while actively identifying and building new client relationships.
RequirementsExperience:
10+ years of dedicated experience in public accounting.
Education & Credentials:
BSBA in Accounting; active CPA certification required.
Software Proficiency:
Experience with QuickBooks, ProSystem fx Tax, and MS Office (Word and Excel).
Attributes:
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple engagements and consistently meet deadlines.
