Tax Supervisor Position for Growing Top 100
Firm Job Description:
The Tax Supervisor oversees complex tax engagements by researching issues, gathering and validating client information, preparing work papers and returns, and identifying risks. They coordinate with managers and principals, advise clients on tax implications and planning opportunities, recommend strategies to reduce tax burden and compliance costs, and serve as the primary contact for complex tax matters. The role also includes monitoring policy changes, providing written tax guidance, and contributing to marketing, networking, and business‑development efforts within their specialty.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Apply ASC 740‑10 (FAS 109 & FIN 48) to income tax provisions, uncertain tax positions, footnote disclosures, and tax accrual reviews. GAAP — Applies governing accounting principles to client transactions by drafting complex financial statements, communicating disclosure requirements, applying new pronouncements, resolving complex accounting issues, and coaching junior team members. Research — Conducts authoritative accounting and tax research by using internal/external tools, forming and documenting conclusions, supporting audit strategy development, preparing planning materials, coordinating audit responsibilities, and applying firm standards for WTA and tax return preparation. Conduct tax research and prepare Written Tax Advice (WTA) in accordance with firm and professional standards. Review and manage preparation of tax returns, resolve complex tax issues, and ensure compliance with all applicable authorities. Identify tax planning opportunities, coordinate specialized tax services, and support clients through exams and controversy matters. Evaluate internal controls, document design and operating effectiveness, and recommend improvements to reduce organizational risk. Draft and review GAAP‑compliant financial statements, apply new accounting pronouncements, and address complex accounting issues. Manage client expectations, engagement timelines, budgets, billing, and collections. Supervise associates through supervisors, review deliverables, provide performance feedback, and deliver technical training.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or other relevant field Either CPA or JD or EA Required Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dublin, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00
