OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Bridgeford Trust Company is seeking a Director of Fiduciary Taxation to lead and oversee all aspects of fiduciary tax administration across the firm's trust and fiduciary accounts. This leadership role serves as Bridgeford's primary internal resource for fiduciary taxation matters and works collaboratively with trust officers, trust administrators, outside tax professionals, clients, and advisors to help ensure timely, accurate, and compliant tax administration. The Director of Fiduciary Taxation will coordinate and manage trust tax processes, assist with tax planning initiatives, facilitate quarterly estimated tax payments, respond to IRS and state taxing authority notices, and provide firm-wide guidance regarding fiduciary tax matters. The role will also help develop tax-related procedures, train staff, and support Bridgeford's commitment to exceptional fiduciary service and risk management.
FUNCTIONS
Fiduciary Tax Leadership
  • Lead Bridgeford's fiduciary tax function across all trust and fiduciary accounts.
  • Serve as the firm's subject matter expert on fiduciary income taxation matters.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve tax-related workflows, procedures, and controls.
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities affecting trust accounts and assist in developing appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor regulatory and tax law developments impacting trusts and fiduciary relationships. Tax Administration and Coordination
  • Oversee the annual fiduciary tax reporting process for trust accounts.
  • Coordinate with external CPAs, tax preparers, attorneys, family offices, and client advisors.
  • Facilitate the collection and delivery of tax information and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor tax filing deadlines and help ensure timely completion of required tax filings.
  • Assist trust administration teams with tax-sensitive transactions and distributions. Quarterly Estimates and Tax Payments
  • Coordinate quarterly estimated tax calculations and payment processes for applicable trust accounts. Payments are made by our Controller.
  • Work with trust officers and tax professionals to help ensure timely funding and payment of tax obligations.
  • Track estimated tax payment schedules and maintain appropriate records.
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives designed to improve tax process efficiency for trust accounts. IRS and Tax Authority Matters
  • Respond to IRS notices, state tax notices, and related correspondence.
  • Coordinate the resolution of tax examinations, information requests, and notices with outside advisors when necessary.
  • Maintain records and tracking systems related to tax authority communications.
  • Escalate material tax issues and risks to management as appropriate. Training and Internal Support
  • Provide training and continuing education to trust officers, trust administrators, and support staff regarding fiduciary taxation matters.
  • Serve as a resource for internal tax-related questions.
  • Assist in developing educational materials and reference guides for Bridgeford personnel.
  • Participate in internal committees, projects, and operational initiatives as needed. Client Service and Relationship Management
  • Assist trust officers in discussions with clients and advisors regarding fiduciary tax matters.
  • Support client onboarding and trust administration activities involving tax considerations.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, advisors, referral sources, and service providers.
  • Maintain Bridgeford's commitment to responsive, proactive, and high-quality client service.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
  • CPA, JD, Master's in Taxation, EA, or comparable credential strongly preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in fiduciary taxation, trust taxation, estate taxation, public accounting, wealth management, family office services, trust administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fiduciary income taxation, trust taxation, and estate-related tax matters.
  • Experience coordinating with attorneys, CPAs, and other professional advisors.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and mentor team members.
  • Commitment to accuracy, responsiveness, and fiduciary excellence.

This individual combines technical tax expertise with strong leadership, judgment, and client service skills. GENERAL — Standard business hours are anticipated, but occasionally unscheduled hours may be needed to meet some high-volume or emergency needs.
OFFERED COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Because we believe in transparency, the full compensation package for the role is listed below: — Competitive base salary TBD (exact amount offered for role is negotiable and depends on prior experience) — Discretionary Annual Bonus (based on personal and Company performance) — Employer profit share 401(k) contribution to employee of 10% of base salary (no employee match required) — Cellphone Reimbursement of $150/month ($1,800 annually) — Annual Max HSA Contribution for Family or Individual - 2026 amounts are $8,750 for Family or $4,400 for Individual (can be used to pay for health expenses and any unused amount employee keeps and can invest, use following year, etc.) — Fully employer-paid Individual or family medical insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) up to $25k annually in premiums — Fully employer-paid dental insurance for Individual or Family (Delta Dental) — 20 Days Paid Time Off (you can roll over up to 5 days annually) — 14-16 Paid Holidays — Company events, outings, and perks — Continuing education and professional development opportunities. — Industry conference and training support. — Opportunity to play a strategic leadership role within a growing fiduciary organization.
