DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a Tax Manager to join our State and Local Tax Audit Team to manage indirect and direct tax appeals. The SALT Audit Team is directly responsible for sales, use, corporate net income, gross receipts and unclaimed property audits in various tax jurisdictions. The SALT Audit Team is looking for candidates who have multi-state experience defending tax positions throughout the appeal process. The candidate will be expected to roll up their sleeves to deliver accurate results on multiple projects with competing deadlines. This role engages with internal and external tax experts to handle various tax issues across the range of Amazon's operations. Key job responsibilities Research, evaluate and document State and Local tax issues from a controversy perspective Prepare, manage and defend responses to complex information requests from tax authorities Coordinate with stakeholders within Amazon Tax and non-Tax teams in connection with appeals Develop and deliver presentations on tax matters to various stakeholders Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external advisors Implement and enhance organizational processes for continuous improvement A day in the life You'll engage with various stakeholders to coordinate responses to tax authority inquiries, collaborate with subject matter experts, and contribute to process improvements. Your day might include preparing documentation for tax authorities, consulting with internal teams on complex tax matters, and participating in strategic planning sessions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience J.D., or
CPA PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
