We coordinate our clients' finances through their various stages of life, from accumulation to retirement, and work generationally with families offering counsel on estate and trust planning.
Job Summary:
Our Tax Manager/Financial Advisor position will have the dual responsibilities of managing AFA's tax practice while providing investment management services to our firm's clientele. Through our formal training and mentorship, our advisors learn to identify tax planning and investment opportunities using a solutions-oriented process. As an integrated tax and investment advisor, you will be responsible for recognizing tax planning opportunities coupled with tax-efficient investment strategies. Responsibilities include investment analysis, portfolio construction, allocation and performance monitoring, addressing changes to investment objectives, and all aspects of account servicing. In addition to managing long term client relationships, our integrated tax and financial advisors maintain our tax and portfolio software to prepare tax returns, monitor investment accounts, and compile performance data for client reviews. Advisors will also become proficient in using our trading and servicing platform through our world-class investment custodian, Charles Schwab & Co.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Excellent interpersonal communication skills and motivation to grow new relationships Desire to become highly qualified in personal finance and investment management, in addition to individual tax preparation and tax planning integration. Understanding of financial markets, general investment securities, individual IRS tax codes Hold or willingness to obtain a series 65 and CFP certification, CPA certification a plus Tax Manager & Advisor Responsibilities /
Scope of Duties:
Welcome and provide the best on-board experience to new clients and new client development Participate in client meetings and customize financial plans and solutions Individual Income Tax preparation and planning Integration of portfolios with tax planning strategies related to portfolio growth, tax consequences and efficient portfolio income distributions Recommend and manage client investment portfolios consistent with client objectives and suitability Monitor portfolio for changes in markets and client objectives Display confidence in retirement planning, wealth accumulation, IRC income withdrawal rules, and estate wealth transfers
