This position combines receptionist duties, tax preparation, customer service, and a significant amount of data entry and document processing. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with computers, has strong attention to detail, and can provide professional customer service in a fast-paced office environment. Previous tax preparation experience is preferred but not required. Some training will be provided, including training on our tax preparation software, office procedures, document handling, and tax preparation processes. Responsibilities Greet clients and provide friendly and professional customer service. Answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and assist clients with general questions. Schedule, confirm, and manage client appointments. Perform accurate and efficient data entry of client, financial, and tax information. Enter information from W-2s, 1099s, identification documents, and other tax forms into tax preparation software. Assist with preparing federal and state individual income tax returns. Review client documents for completeness and accuracy. Identify missing information and follow up with clients when necessary. Scan, upload, copy, print, and organize client documents. Maintain accurate electronic and physical client records. Assist clients with completing required forms and paperwork. Review entered information and completed returns for potential data-entry errors. Assist with electronic filing and other tax office procedures. Collect required signatures and documentation from clients. Perform general clerical duties, including filing, typing, scanning, copying, and document organization. Maintain an organized reception and work area. Protect the confidentiality of all client, financial, and tax information. Assist tax preparers and other team members during busy periods. Participate in training and learn office procedures, tax software, and basic tax preparation processes. Qualifications Previous tax preparation, receptionist, customer service, administrative, or office experience is preferred but not required. Strong data-entry and typing skills with excellent attention to detail. Comfortable using computers and learning new software. Ability and willingness to learn tax preparation procedures. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to accurately work with numbers, names, Social Security numbers, addresses, and financial information. Professional and courteous phone and customer-service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and established office procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, punctual, and available during the tax season. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive client information. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Training Some on-the-job training will be provided.
