Tax Planner & Preparer (Year-Round)Firm:
Vosberg Wealth Management Location:
Glendora, CA About Us:
Vosberg Wealth Management is a retirement-focused financial planning practice based in Glendora, CA. We specialize in helping individuals over 50 navigate retirement with confidence — covering everything from retirement income planning and Social Security to tax planning, Medicare, and investment management. As a fiduciary, we are committed to providing independent, personalized advice in the best interest of every client we serve. We integrate tax planning and tax preparation directly into our clients' financial plans, rather than treating tax season as a standalone event.Overview:
We are looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Tax Planner & Preparer to join our team in a full-time, year-round capacity. Unlike a seasonal tax role, this position weaves tax strategy into ongoing financial planning — you will prepare client returns during filing season and, throughout the rest of the year, work proactively with our advisors and clients on tax strategies tied to retirement. This is a true seat at the planning table, where your expertise directly shapes client strategy rather than just their return. What You'll Do:
- Prepare and review individual federal and state tax returns for clients
- Manage the client document collection and review process during tax season
- Identify retirement-specific deductions, credits, and issues (Social Security taxation, RMDs, IRMAA, QCDs, cost basis on investment accounts)
- Partner with our financial advisors to build tax strategies into clients' retirement plans
- Model and recommend Roth conversion strategies, withdrawal sequencing, and tax-bracket management for retirees
- Advise on tax-efficient charitable giving (QCDs, donor-advised funds), tax-loss harvesting, and capital gains planning
- Monitor tax law changes and proactively flag planning opportunities or risks for clients
- Participate in client meetings alongside advisors to explain tax strategy and answer client questions
- Help develop firm-wide tax planning processes and educational content for clients
What We're Looking For:
- CPA or EA required
- 5+ years of tax preparation experience; experience with tax planning (not just filing) strongly preferred
- Deep familiarity with retirement-related tax topics: Social Security taxation, RMDs, IRA/401(k) distributions, Roth conversions, Medicare IRMAA
- Comfortable working closely with financial advisors as part of an integrated planning team, not a siloed tax role
- Strong client communication skills — able to explain tax strategy clearly to non-tax-expert clients
- Proficiency with professional tax software and financial planning tools
- PFP or CFP® is a plus
What You'll Get:
Pay & Perks:
- Base salary DOE
- Performance bonus potential
- 401(k) with match
- Benefits package (health, dental)
- Paid time off and paid holidays
Schedule:
In office: Monday- Friday, 8:30am
- 5:00pm
Pay:
$60,000.00- $100,000.
