This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling sensitive financial records, coordinating document collection, and assisting with return preparation in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong organization, accuracy, and clear communication to help keep filings on schedule and client information well managed.

Responsibilities:

Gather tax-related records from clients, verify that submissions are complete, and organize materials for efficient processing. Enter financial information accurately into tax and accounting systems to support timely preparation of returns. Assist with the preparation of individual and business tax filings by compiling supporting data and reviewing documentation. Monitor open items on client files and follow up to obtain missing paperwork or clarifications before filing deadlines. Maintain orderly electronic and physical records so tax documents can be retrieved quickly and audited easily. Communicate with clients and internal staff regarding outstanding requests, filing progress, and scheduling needs. Provide day-to-day administrative support, including scanning, filing, calendar coordination, and general office assistance. Help the tax team manage seasonal workload priorities by tracking due dates and supporting high-volume periods. High school diploma required; additional education in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is preferred. Previous experience in tax support, bookkeeping, administrative coordination, or a similar office-based role is preferred. Working knowledge of tax preparation software and Microsoft Office applications. Strong data entry ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to protect confidential financial and personal information with professionalism and discretion. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and team members. Strong time management and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines during peak tax periods. Familiarity with individual tax returns, tax preparation practices, and tools such as QuickBooks is an advantage.
