Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant/Tax Preparer to join our financial team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in accounting and tax law to deliver accurate financial reporting, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide exceptional client service. As a key contributor, you will handle complex tax return preparation, support financial analysis, and assist with various accounting functions to help clients achieve their financial goals. The ideal candidate is energetic, proactive, and passionate about maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in all financial matters. Duties Prepare individual, corporate, and non-profit tax returns with precision, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Perform comprehensive financial statement preparation, including balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and regulatory reporting. Analyze financial data using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms to ensure accurate account analysis and double-entry bookkeeping. Support auditing processes by conducting internal audits and preparing documentation for external auditors in accordance with regulatory compliance accounting standards. Experience Proven experience in accounting and finance roles with a focus on tax preparation and compliance. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, including individual tax, corporate tax expertise, and regulatory compliance accounting standards such as GAAP. Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks, Ultratax, or similar tools; familiarity with technical accounting principles is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis, asset management, budgeting, and balance sheet reconciliation effectively. Experience working within public accounting firms is highly desirable. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and professionally. Knowledge of specialized areas such as estate planning, securities law, non-profit accounting, private equity, or mergers & acquisitions will be considered an advantage. The job includes a

Hours will expand during tax season. Tax season is defined as around January 15th through April 15th. The rate of pay offered is a wide range. Pay will be based on experience. Pay:
$23.00 - $35.00 per hour
