Job Description

Hargis and Associates LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Data Entry & Tax Preparation Assistant to join our CPA and consulting firm in Russellville, Kentucky. The position is full-time. We work primarily with healthcare clients and are looking for someone who has strong organizational skills, enjoys working with numbers and financial documents, and is committed to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. The successful candidate will assist with data entry, tax return preparation, and administrative support. Key Responsibilities Enter, verify, and update client information accurately in company software and databases. Organize and maintain digital and physical client records. Assist tax preparers by gathering, reviewing, and processing tax-related documents. Prepare client files for tax return completion. Communicate with clients regarding missing information and documentation. Scan, file, and manage confidential financial records. Perform general administrative tasks Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous data entry, bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative experience. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Basic knowledge of tax preparation processes is a plus but not required. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Preferred Skills Experience with Microsoft Office, tax software or accounting software. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Experience in a professional office environment. Compensation and Benefits Compensation will be based on skills and experience.
