Job Description

We are looking for a Tax Preparer to support individual tax filing needs for a Long-term Contract position based in Eagan, Minnesota. This opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage tax return preparation accurately, communicate clearly with clients, and work efficiently during high-volume periods. The role focuses on preparing individual returns, reviewing financial information, and using tax software to deliver timely and compliant filings.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare individual income tax returns by analyzing client-provided financial records, deductions, and supporting documentation.
  • Review tax documents for completeness and accuracy to help ensure compliant and timely filings.
  • Gather and organize information from clients to clarify missing items, resolve discrepancies, and support accurate return preparation.
  • Use tax software to enter tax data, calculate liabilities or refunds, and finalize returns for submission.
  • Apply current tax rules and guidelines when preparing returns and identifying eligible credits or deductions.
  • Maintain clear and thorough records of tax files, client communications, and supporting documentation.
  • Respond to client questions regarding return details, filing requirements, and requested tax information.
  • Assist with managing multiple returns and deadlines during peak tax season while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
